Oil Level Control in Parallel Compressor System
Oil level control system in parallel compressor system and tandem compressors for commercial and industrial refrigeration and air conditioning, provide flexibility, higher efficiency, diversification and load matching thus leading to low power operation cost as compared to systems that use a single compressor. Parallel compressor systems employ two (tandem) or more compressors to a common discharge header and a common suction header and can have oil level control related problems.The most common problem is to maintain the correct level of the oil in each compressor and the other problem is to separate the oil from the refrigerant.
To get higher efficiency and energy saving systems designers are now focusing on variable speed compressors technology (compressors inverter driven).
With variable speed compressors systems a good oil separation is more difficult to achieve and the oil level management for each compressor is a crucial point due to differences in pressure, load, etc. from one compressor to the other.

TK3 monitors the oil level with the embedded optoelectronic sensor and comprises a solenoid valve for oil filling and a relay output contact to give alarm or directly stop the compressor (trough a separate power relay).
